The curriculum for the Kindergarten is divided into 3 groups as follows:

K3

Three-Year-Old   Pre-Kindergarten

Children learn language through games and hands-on activities.

Topic:                          Preschool skills

Text:                           Get Ready For School! (Stickers)

Course Description: This workbook introduces children to a variety of readiness basics through playful activities.  The lessons focus on counting and adding objects and money, interpreting graphs, identifying shapes and patterns.

Course Description: The Big Preschool Workbook is packed with exercises that make learning fun.  The activities will help children prepare for school teaching the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, phonics, pre-reading skills.

Course Description: Children learn language through games and hands-on activities; built-in picture dictionary shows new and recycled vocabulary. Children “sing and say” songs, chants, and conversation. Tell a Story books to make and take home help the students to revise the language. K4

Four-Year-Old   Pre-Kindergarten

AEA provides a lively academic program for four year olds, which gives children an enjoyable educational foundation and a desire to learn more.

Text:                           Little Owl Books and Little Books 1 - 10

Course Description: Reading is taught using two approaches: 1) self paced study in which students progress at their own reading level, and 2) introduction to the reading circle with follow up activity exercises. Very simple words are used so that the students are not pressed to read difficult words until they are ready. They start with very basic consonant and vowel sounds and go on to blends, words, and simple sentences.

Course Description: Students learn the exact formation and placement of letters as well as extra practice in writing.

Topic:                           Phonics and Numbers

Course Description: Phonics, counting and number writing activities include an introduction to the number concept and the formation of the numbers 1 through 20; as well as the recognition, sound and formation of vowels, consonants, consonant - vowel blends, and one - syllable words with one or two vowels.

K5

Five-Year-Old   Pre-Kindergarten

AEA places the accent on enjoyment in its academic program for five year olds. This age group is always eager to learn, and the AEA curriculum enables these students to progress rapidly.

Course DescriptionStudents are guided through twelve small readers as they learn to read phonetically and develop reading and comprehension skills that will remain with them for life.

Course Description: Students learn to write letters as they learn what sound the letters say. Student will write letters, blends, words, and even sentences.
